NJASK – New Jersey’s state exam for middle school
TEAM Academy and Rise Academy middle school students, like all New Jersey students, take the New Jersey Assessment of Skills and Knowledge (NJASK) in grades five through eight. The scores above are the percentage of TEAM Academy and Rise Academy students who scored proficient or advanced proficient on the most recent administration of the NJASK (spring 2008) as compared to the percent proficient in Newark as a whole for that grade level. The percentage of students who are either proficient or advanced proficient on these tests correlates to the percentage of students performing on grade level. Although TEAM Schools’ high school, Newark Collegiate Academy, had students in ninth grade as of spring 2008, there is not a comparable test in English and Math in high school in NJ until the 11th grade HSPA.
