TEAM Charter Schools

The first elementary school in TEAM Charter Schools, SPARK Academy, opened in August 2009 serving over 100 students starting in kindergarten. SPARK Academy will add a grade each year, growing into a full pre-K-4 elementary school.

On January 15, SPARK Academy held its first ever lottery to select students who will be a part of the school’s founding kindergarten class. 20% of Newark kindergartners (over 600 students) applied for our lottery and 110 new students became a part of the Class of 2022! SPARK Academy will only offer kindergarten in its first year (2009-2010) but will eventually feed into TEAM, Rise, and Newark Collegiate Academy, giving Newark students one of the top educations in the country from kindergarten through high school.

If you are interested in enrolling your student in SPARK Academy this year or in future years, you can add your child’s name to our waiting list by clicking here and filling out our short enrollment application. If your child was not selected in this year’s lottery, we will keep your name on our waiting list and contact you if openings become available.
